The Old Country Store
Steve and Cile Holden purchased the store building in May of 1973. A lot of the antique fixtures were in place, but the shelves were bare except for one large peppermint puff in the huge jar that is still in use today, and a lone wrinkled pickle in the big crock. Their three children, then aged six, seven and eight, helped out through the years. The tradition of the Old Country Store has flourished and grown and now Jo Hayden is taking over the ownership and sister Laurie Holden works with her.
This year is our 50th anniversary!
